Kultvinmagerne Greg Brewer og Steve Clifton har skarpt fokus ved at lave vin på Chardonnay og Pinot Noir. De laver vin fra nogle af de bedste vinmarker i det kølige klima i Santa Rita Hills. Alle deres vine vinificeres på samme måde og det der skiller dem ud fra hinanden er de respektive vinmarkers terroir.
Alle Brewer-Cliftons Pinot Noir vine vinificeres i 100 % stålkar, hele klaser. Druerne koldmacereres i 7 dage, gæres i 14 og eftermacereres i 10 dage.
Man anvender kun fransk eg fra Sirugue i Nuits St Georges. De arbejder med stor respekt for naturen og lader tyngdeloven styre i vinhuset.
Brewer-Clifton har lige indviet deres nye vineri i Lompoc og overalt er det rustfri stål der benyttes i vineriet. Alt omkring deres vinfremstilling er fokuseret på en ting, nemlig kvalitet og at give vinen dens identitet fra marken.

Brewer-Cliftons vine scorer regelmæssigt mellem 90 – 95 point hos Robert Parker og han skriver om dem:
”Brewer-Clifton´s commitment to excellence with Pinot Noir is also applicable to their effort with Chardonnay. These wines see about 30% new oak, are put through full malolactic fermentation, and are aging magnificently well and are still relatively young wines. These cuvées have a decade or more of aging potential” Robert Parker i Wine Advocate issue 172.

2007/08 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills chardonnay Pris: 260,00 DKK
A combination of four select and diverse vineyard sites along the Highway 246 corridor in the heart of the appellation.
Aromas of lemon curd, lime, quince and flint followed by flavors of lemon drop, sage and bee pollen. Brisk, crystalline and driven in the mouth.

2008 Gnesa chardonnay Pris: 340,00 DKK
Lee Gnesa (pronounced ne-sa) and his family planted this intimate, four-acre vineyard in 1996 on Highway 246 on a gentle north facing slope in the heart of the AVA. We are the sole recipients of this gorgeous fruit and assumed the responsibility of the farming with our vineyard team starting in 2009.
Ripe white peach, flint and citrus flower followed by flavors of blood orange, nectarine and
guava. Tremendous drying salinity in the mouth despite significant weight.

2007 Brewer-Clifton Seasmoke chardonnay 96 RP Pris: 380,00 DKK
We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the rare chardonnay from this prestigious vineyard that is planted predominantly to pinot noir. We have access to a three acre parcel from which we receive dijonnaise clones 76, 95 and 96. The block is Metz loamy sand and is situated on a small mesa immediately above the Santa Ynez river.
Aromas of yellow papaya, tangerine and fresh brie rind coupled with flavors of mango, cherimoya and yuzu. While rich, the wine maintains a well delineated mouthfeel.

2006/08 Brewer-Clifton Mount Carmel chardonnay Pris: 400,00 DKK
This release marks the third growing season of this illustrious site under our complete
management. Originally planted in 1991 by Ron and Nancy Piazza (the current owners), this monopole vineyard is now overseen by our brilliant vineyard manager, Francisco Ramirez. Of the twenty acre parcel, six are planted to Wente clone chardonnay on a steep, wind-beaten slope of botella clay and limestone.
Pear, meyer lemon and fennel aromatics followed by flavors of asian pear, white fig and amaretto. Salty, gripping and powerful palate impression.

2006 Brewer-Clifton Sweeney Canyon chardonnay RP 93 Pris: 420,00 DKK
One of the oldest chardonnay sites in the appellation, as well as one with which we have worked since our inception. Planted on its own roots to a Wente selection and dry farmed in a combination of river silt and diatomaceous soils.
White flower blossom, spearmint, kafir leaf and ginger aromatics followed by flavors of dried apricot and ginger snap. Powerful yet very graceful and streamlined.

2007/08 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills pinot noir Pris: 280,00 DKK
Three significant and select vineyard sites from diverse pockets within the appellation comprise this inaugural release.
Aromas of black raspberry, dried rose petal and lavender followed by flavors of pomegranate, black cherry and dried orange peel. Firm, chalky and lingering mouthfeel.

2006 Brewer-Clifton Rancho Santa Rosa pinot noir RP 90 Pris: 400,00 DKK
Adjacent to the chardonnay parcel mentioned above, this block of clone 667 pinot noir is planted on a steep south facing slope replete with limestone.
Aromas of thyme, pink peppercorn and pomegranate followed by savory flavors of meat, soy and plum. Very rich and firmly structured on the palate.

2006/08 Brewer-Clifton Mount Carmel pinot noir Pris: 430,00 DKK
This spectacular and challenging site consistently delivers fruit that we find particularly compelling and difficult to describe. Very steep slopes of botella clay, diatomite and limestone planted to clone 115 and the Mount Eden selection.
Aromas of violets, stone fruit and black tea followed by flavors of chocolate, clove and dried fruits. The most noble texturally with tremendous intensity matched with silky grace.

2006 Brewer-Clifton Lindsay's(Ashleys) pinot noir RP 90+ Pris: 320,00 DKK
(formerly Ashley’s) Now owned by Bill Foley, this relatively large site is planted on a multitude of blocks in predominantly sandy clay loam soils. Our blocks are comprised of clones 114, 115 and Pommard selection.
Pomegranate, cured pork and cayenne truffle aromas followed by cranberry and kirsch flavors. Very savory and brambly on the palate with dry, gripping tannins.

2006 Brewer-Clifton Clos Pepe pinot noir RP 89+ Pris: 360,00 DKK
This thirty acre vineyard is owned and farmed by the Pepe and Hagen families. Our section is planted solely to clone 5 (Pommard selection) on a gently sloping knoll in the center of their property impacted by strong maritime breezes.
Raspberry, holiday spice and floral aromatics followed by flavors of strawberry glaze and pomegranate. Very complete matching tender pliancy with a firm mid-palate.

2006 Brewer-Clifton Cargasacchi pinot noir RP 91+ Pris: 420,00 DKK
Peter Cargasacchi owns and farms this dynamic sixteen acre site planted in the late ‘90s entirely to clone 115. Very stark soil profile of predominantly diatomaceous earth on the western edge of the appellation.
Aromas of asian spice, cured meat and wild strawberry followed by flavors of saddle leather, beets and chicory. Very savory in the mouth with broad structure.

2007/08 Brewer-Clifton Ampelos pinot noir Pris: 400,00 DKK
This is our first bottling of this vineyard owned and farmed by Peter and Rebecca Work who custom planted a 1.7 acre parcel in west facing clay loam soil to clone 828.
Aromas of spearmint, roasted root vegetable and caramelized beet followed by flavors of rosemary
and rhubarb. Very tannic and firmly structured palate impression.

2007/08 Brewer-Clifton Melville pinot noir Pris: 460,00 DKK
The Melville family planted this wind swept mesa in 1997 to clones 114 and 115. The clay-loam soil, cold winds and conscientious farming consistently deliver a wine which harmoniously delivers richness, power, structure and grace.
Aromas of bing cherry, rose water and sweet tan leather followed by savory flavors of umeboshi and plum skin. Very structured yet seductively pliant mouthfeel.
