In 1986, Judy Jordan founded J Vineyards & Winery in order to craft the varietal and sparkling wines that have since become the essence of Russian River Valley expression. This viticultural area runs west through Sonoma County, following the river as it winds around rolling hills and through rich benchlands before emptying into the Pacific Ocean. The region's unique topography creates a rich diversity of soils, and the cool coastal climate prolongs the growing season, making it one of only a few places on earth ideal for producing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Other varietals thrive here, too. George Bursick, our winemaker, uses a combination of traditional and innovative winemaking techniques to craft Pinot Gris, Viognier and Vin Gris in true Russian River Valley style.

In addition to our varietal wines, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay have served as the base of our critically-acclaimed sparkling wines for 20 years now. We are dedicated to creating sparkling wines in the traditional method of Champagne, or mêthode champenoise. This labor-intensive philosophy results in sparkling wines of incredible depth, complexity and dazzling effervescence.

J Cuvee 20 Pris: 176,00 DKK
Tasting Notes
The non-vintage J Cuvée 20 Brut gracefully opens up with crisp lemon
peel, honeysuckle and delicate yeast aromas. Upon entry, these notes
are followed by a mix of Fuji apple, grapefruit and a sweet hint of
angel food cake. The mid-palate is interlaced with toast, caramel and
almond flavors. The acidity adds just enough liveliness and the citrus
zest leads to a lingering, warm pear and lush finish. This wine pairs
beautifully with a Kumamoto oyster topped with Tsar Nicoulai Caviar
in a J Cuvée 20 mignonette.

J Wine, NV Brut Rose Pris: 200,00 DKK
Tasting Notes
Our J Brut Rosé sparkles with a luminous cool pink hue and exudes
delicate aromas of strawberry, nectarine and juicy red apples. On the
palate, the wine opens with flavors of cherry, blood orange, citrus
peel and tropical fruit. The wine engages the entire palate, and is
wrapped in a refined body of elegance and effervescence, ending
with a lively and lingering finish. The bright, delightfully fresh acidity
of our Brut Rosé makes this an excellent companion with a variety
of cuisines. We recommend pairing it with a pan-seared salmon that
has been rubbed with a dash of olive oil. It is the perfect celebratory
sparkling wine for virtually every occasion.

Tasting Notes
The long, slow maturation of 2000 Vintage Brut contributes greatly to the complex aromas of toasted almonds, fresh baked brioche, nutmeg and cardamom spice all carried by its delicate effervescence. The palate is smooth with a creamy entry and a vibrant, crisp acidity that shows through in its flavors of apple, Bosc pear and lemon peel leading to a subtle, citrus finish.

Tasting Notes

The 2007 vintage is a plush, full wine exhibiting the expressive character of Russian River Valley. An excellent growing season provided a wine of great depth with elegantly composed layers. Aromas of violets, rose and wild blackberry fill the glass. As the wine opens there are hints of cocoa, cinnamon and cloves. The traditional Pinot Noir flavors of cherry and strawberry are fully integrated with the subtle oak tannins.
