Ashe Vineyards 26-acre, organically farmed estate is situated in Oakville—the appellation of Screaming Eagle, Harlan Estate and Dalle Valle, some of Napa’s most sought after Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is planted to the classic Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Sauvignon Blanc. Proprietor Kristine Ashe and her family live on the vineyard property, continuing the legacy of this land as a family home.

Our shady three-acre riverside block of Sauvignon Blanc produces fruit with clean, crisp minerality and brisk acidity. We harvest at night and ferment in cement eggs – a modern twist on a time-honored method – to preserve this natural freshness and maintain fruit aromas. An additional eighteen months of barrel and bottle aging add layers of complexity and a lush, yet crisp mouthfeel. This elegant and intriguing wine already captivates the palate, but will continue to evolve with additional time in the bottle. |

The Wine:
By hand-crafting our wines the old-fashioned way, we unlock diverse aromatics, complex flavors, and a sense of purity and refinement that mechanically produced wines cannot attain. Our Cabernet is picked at optimal ripeness and hand de-stemmed to attain the purest expression of fruit, striking a careful balance of acid, sweetness, and tannin.
Tasting Notes:
Dark brambly fruit and chocolate offer a seductive welcome, opening into rich mocha, earth tones, and classic fruits rouges. Spiced black cherries and espresso characterize the mid-palate, with a bright counterpoint from perfect red raspberries and cassis, and the sweet toast of new French oak. The chocolate lingers sensuously throughout, unfolding throughout the languorous finish. Elegant tannins structure the luminous fruit and promise years of further evolution in the cellar.
Winemaking & Farming:
We make modern wines the old way – completely by hand. Our 26-acre Oakville estate vineyard is painstakingly managed and micro-farmed in one-acre plots to promote optimal health of the soil and vines to create near perfect ripening and fruit of incredible quality . Night harvesting, manual de-stemming and barrel fermentation are a few of the traditional techniques we use to unlock diverse aromatics, complex flavors and a purity of fruit that cannot be achieved by mechanical methods. |
