93 points Decanter: "A vintage that shows the restrained and sometimes hidden power of Mount Veeder Cabernet. The nose is initially reticent and understated, giving off subtle notes of blackberry and espresso, but after time in the glass it opens up to reveal a vibrant, gritty core. Beautiful and classically Mayacamas in style, but built to go the distance. You can drink it now, but best left for at least another five years. (ML)" (03/2020)
Jancis Robinson: "Deep garnet, enticing slightly herbaceous aroma – scented – alongside rocky dark fruit and graphite. Super-fresh and still that herbaceous quality but also sweet red cherry and cassis leaf, and some black-olive savoury notes. Really complex and still with a firm but not aggressive structure and approachable now. Bone dry and just a little chalky in texture, like layers of paper, elegant and refined. 18/20 points (JH)" (06/2016)
