HISTORY
This certified organic estate-owned vineyard was planted in the 1920s on ancient marine calcareous soils. Though the vines are head-trained and dry-farmed, the soil plays the most important role in distinguishing this vineyard on the west side of Paso Robles. The wines have a brightness, with chalk and floral characteristic aromas unique to the site, and to Zinfandel in general.

Its aromas open significantly as it spends time in the glass, from a core of red cherry jam to wafts of fernet, wildflowers and tea leaves. The palate is soft, supple and energetic, with detailed, nuanced fruit and an ethereal, layered finish. What a pleasure to drink!

The 2021 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard is packed with dark fruit, candied plum, spice, lavender and leather. This opulent, flamboyant Paso Robles Zinfandel from vines planted in 1923 is a wine of extremes. Jammy, opulent fruit and searing acids are all dialed up. Then again, that is Paso.
