Our cab franc rests on a wavelength despised and avoided by other winemakers in our region - which makes me lean in even more. We want to preserve the 'cab franc-i-ness'; we want fresh cut herbs; we want savory spice. Cab franc is one of the most distinctive grape varieties, why wouldn't we want to embrace that? 2022 Cabernet Franc - 96 Vinous
A totally classic bouquet of mint leaf, bell pepper and crushed raspberries meets a beautiful complement of white smoke as the 2022 Cabernet Franc blossoms in the glass. This washes across the palate with a contrasting blend of sweet spices and tart wild berry fruits, taking on a tactile mineral crunch and depths of exotic spice toward the close. Silky within, yet grippy and sinewy through the finish, this finishes impossibly long and staining.

Verdensklasse!
Cabernet franc er efter sigende lidt en trend i Napa, men det er i nicherne. Sommelierdrevet helt sikkert. Det samme reelt i Washington State, men der er helt klart et publikum, som er træt af volumenknappens maksimum og he-man-kroppen, også i USA. Rød loire har længe været en restaurantting herhjemme, specielt på spisesteder med juicer som sauce, lethed, urter og syre på tallerkenen. Her kommer en chokerende god cabernet franc fra Guds… jeg mener Trumps, eget land. Lavet af Travis Allen under kultbrandet Kobayashi og sendt ud til mailorder-kunder plus en dansk importør. 14,5 %, men på ingen måde tung. Aromatisk en slags Château Lafleur-light kombineret med Domaine Roches Neuves enkeltmarks-saumur-champigny’er og Le Macchioles Paleo fra Bolgheri, men formet som en gracie. En nordic noir gracie. Smuk, rund, elegant, forfriskende, drikkevenlig, men high-fidelity og kompleks på en enkel måde. Solbærbusk incarnated. Greb i gummerne, men svævende og så tager de madagaskarpebrede tanniner over til sidst.
