2005 Corison Kronos Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Record-setting precipitation late into the spring delayed bloom and set in 2005. Then modest, even summer growing conditions were followed by an unusually cool ripening season with nighttime temperatures plummeting into the 40’s in late September and early October. A lovely Indian Summer brought the fruit to perfect ripeness for late October picking. A bumper crop with marvelous flavor intensity and singular balance are the happy result. I love the brightness of the red and blue fruit flavors combined with the lush feel. Aromas of blackberries and candied violets complement flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, cassis, allspice and freshly grated nutmeg. Classic.
