2017 Joseph Swan Saralee's Vineyard Pinot NoirUdsolgt
Darker and more serious aromatically than the fruit forward 2016. The berry/cherry fruit is infused with a hint of mint and a faint touch of merdé. As I tasted it, I kept coming back to an elusive note in the nose. There it was, then it was gone. It was intriguing but what was it? Somehow, when descriptors elude me, it is more exciting than when it is obvious!
A little shyer than the 2016, it is also a little prettier. Iike this one a lot. It reminds me of some of the earlier wines from Saralee's, all of which blossomed in the bottle over time.
