The 2013 Syrah is very seductive and a beautiful expression of the varietal. The nose opens with notes of violets, peony, graphite and blackberries. There is extraordinary purity and precision on the palate, leading to silky tannins, with a hint of cardamom and toasted almonds accompanying a long mineral finish. The natural amplitude of this extraordinary vintage is well-proportioned with finesse and vibrancy.
This shows wonderful blackberry, smoked meat and forest floor undertones. White pepper. Full body, very fine tannins and lots of spice, dark fruit and meat on the aftertaste. A refined and subtle syrah.
Elegantly complex, supple and well-built. Aromas of smoky meat, tapenade and dark raspberry combine with expressive flavors. A hint of mint lingers alongside the plush, ripe tannins. Drink now through 2028.
