This wine is produced by the 11th generation of winemakers
of the Vauthier family, which has owned Château Ausone for
over 300 years. Le Petit Vauthier is located on an exceptional
terroir and owes his typical character to the blending of two
grape varieties traditionally grown in Saint-Emilion, the
Merlot and the Cabernet Franc. It gives to this wine an
exceptional balance and very soft tannins.
Location
Vines are located in the south of the Saint Emilion village.
Nature of soils
Soils are clay with sand and gravel.
Plantation density
Between 5,500 and 12,600 vines per hectare.
Average age of the vines
31 years.

Merlot : 21 september to 2 october
Cabernet Franc : 2 au 7 octobre
Viticulture and oenology
Fermentation and ageing in concrete vats and 12 months in
barrels. Conversion to organic farming since 2020.
