Cassis, dark plum, and a lift of violet rise over sweet cedar and cocoa, all carried on fine, firm tannins toward a long and savory finish. It is beautiful now with a decant, yet its real gift is patience. This wine is always crafted with the same intention as its inaugural 1961 vintage: lush fruit that makes it easy to enjoy upon release, but the structure to age for decades in the cellar.
